Dogs Trust Campaign:A Heartfelt Call for Compassion
Dogs Trust, Ireland’s largest dog welfare charity, needed a campaign to raise awareness about pet adoption and responsible ownership. As the designer on this project, I was responsible for the visual language and creative execution across both digital and print materials.
Context
Challenge
The brief required us to cut through campaign fatigue and create messaging that resonated emotionally with dog lovers while driving real behaviour change, encouraging more people to adopt at a time when competition for attention was high.
We began with collaborative strategy sessions to define audience insights, followed by moodboards to test emotional tone and visual direction. I iterated layouts and messaging hierarchy based on internal feedback and quickly prototyped concepts to align visuals with narrative goals. The final design balanced heartfelt storytelling with accessible, engaging design elements.
Process
The campaign featured a mix of digital ads, social posts, and printed materials that used playful yet heartfelt imagery and copy to connect potential adopters with the joy of finding a forever home. Each touchpoint was designed to build empathy and invite action.
Solution
The work contributed to increased engagement across the charity’s digital platforms and sparked meaningful conversations about animal welfare within the community. The project was recognised within our industry for its emotional impact and creative clarity; notably, the team was honored with a YCN Award for the excellence of our work.
